About this site

Who are you?

The strong opposition to naming a research institute after Milton Friedman on the University of Chicago campus belies two phenomena: One, how hostile the academic environment is to certain topics of discussion, which we feel is a dangerous trend that could stifle diversity, discussion, and creativity on a campus so widely renowned for rigorous debate and investigation.  Two, the misconceptions that exist about Milton Friedman’s life work and academic scholarship.

Friedman Facts is a group of individuals who have organized to share their knowledge of Milton Friedman with interested others.  We have established this website as a resource for those seeking to learn more about his ideas.  Our goal is to put forth the unbiased facts on Friedman’s scholarship and ideas, and the results of his work with various nations in implementing them.  We welcome your feedback, both constructive criticism and suggestions for new material.

How can I help?

Most importantly, you can help by becoming as informed as possible on these issues.  Join our facebook group to stay updated on MFI. Next, we encourage you to write.  Write op-eds to both local and major papers.  Blog.  Organize speaking events for your campus or community.  Basically, help us educate individuals about the importance of competition, free choice, and diverse academic debate in any way you can.  And please keep us updated on your efforts.  If you would like to donate to our effords, which include raising money to bring speakers to the University of Chicago campus, please email us.
